Oral History Project
The Columbia College Chicago Oral History Project, a telling of Columbia's story and its contributions to American higher education through personal narrative, was conceived and initiated in 1997, under the direction of Louis Silverstein.
The primary goal of the project was to create and preserve a unique and accessible record of the College's history since the 1960s, when it began its "long march" as an educational alternative to traditional higher education. Long-time faculty, administrators and staff of the college were interviewed, and it is through their stories that the history of the college unfolds.
