• Chicago Fact Book
  City of Chicago site containing facts and figures on Chicago business, housing, employment, health care, weather, and many other topics. For neighborhood data from the 2000 Census, look on this site under Community Areas.



• Chicago Journal
  Online version of the weekly paper covering the South Loop, Near West, Wicker Park and other Chicago neighborhoods.



• Chicago Reader
  Excellent in-depth coverage of local news. Click on the Archive link to search back issues. Note: The Lincoln Park Campus Library of DePaul holds back issues of the Reader on microfilm.



• Learn Chicago
  Maintained by the Chicago Public Library; includes facts about city history and politics, a timeline and guides to city resources.



• ChicagoCrime.org
  A browsable and searchable database of crimes reported in Chicago. Use Chicagocrime.org to search by address and identify the area's police district/beat and ward.



• Chicago Police Department CLEARmap
  Use CLEARmap to view crime summaries by geographic areas, including police beats.



• Chicago Crime Statistics & Reports
  Current statistics from the Chicago Police Department. Figures are reported by district number, not by neighborhood.
